Austin-Whittemore House Museum

The Clay County Historical Society proudly calls the historic Austin-Whittemore House home. Built in 1882, this beautiful residence stands as a lasting symbol of Clay County’s rich heritage. Once a private family home, today it serves as the heart of our organization. Housing our museum, archives, and event spaces dedicated to enriching the Clay County community.

More than just a building, the Austin-Whittemore House represents the mission of preserving local history and sharing it with future generations. From vintage photographs and memorabilia to rotating exhibits and school tours, the museum brings the past to life in meaningful ways.
