2022 Events

The first event is the CCHS Annual Meeting, with a soup luncheon, scheduled for Wednesday, April 20th at 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. There is an open position on the Board of Directors to be filled, so please plan on attending.

Update on the CCHS Annual Meeting.  We would like to welcome two new members that were elected to the Board of Directors, Katie Heine and Connie Krueger.  Erin Burrow, our recording secretary, decided to retire from this position for a while.  Thank you Erin for your service.  You did a great job!  Barb Campbell was elected and agreed to be the new recording secretary.  Thank you Barb for this task.  To see all the directors go to the Officers/Directors page.

Next is the Ice Cream Social scheduled for Thursday, June 2, on the lawn of the Austin-Whittemore House, between 5:00-7:00 pm.  We will be serving taverns, ice-cream, pie, and bars. Barb Campbell, Doris Hodgen and Judy Sullivan will co-chair this event. Watch for more information the end of May in the newspaper and on face book. We plan to have lots of taverns and pie this year! Please join us.

And then our very popular event, Spoken History Cemetery Tour, will be Monday, October 10th  The committee has not picked a theme for this coming October, but I am sure it will be interesting, one that you will not want to miss! Joni Friedel chairs this event. There will be more information regarding the Spoken History Cemetery Tour at a later date.

As far as the Tour of Homes, this is still under discussion. If you are interested in having your home on the tour, or have questions, please contact the Clay County Historical Society (605-624-8266). We would love to hear from you.
